burakozerweb.com is the personal website of creator and educator Burak Özer and is operated under the burakozerweb brand. The data controller is the site owner whose details are listed below.

I collect as little data as possible. You never need to share personal information to read or download the guides, prompts and PDFs on this site.

Newsletter subscription

• Your email address, the form you used (e.g. home page, newsletter page), your language and any campaign parameters (UTM) are stored.

• As a record of consent, the version of the consent text, a timestamp, a one-way hash of your IP address and your browser information are kept.

• The newsletter is sent through the email service provider Kit (ConvertKit); your email address is shared with Kit for this purpose.

Analytics

• Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity load only if you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner. If you don't, neither runs.

• To understand which pages are read, which PDFs are downloaded and which prompts are copied, I keep my own cookieless, anonymous event log. It contains no name, email or plain IP address; the IP address is processed only as a one-way hash to prevent abuse.

Security

• The site runs on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may use a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from attacks and automated bots, and briefly processes connection data such as your IP address.

• Cloudflare Turnstile is used to prevent spam in forms.

Every newsletter email has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. Once you unsubscribe, you won't receive new issues.

If you want your data deleted entirely, email burakozerweb@gmail.com from the address you subscribed with. I will complete your request within 30 days at the latest and let you know. Deletion includes your record at Kit.

Records that must be kept by law (e.g. proof of consent) are retained only for as long as required and with restricted access.

Under Article 11 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), you have the right to:

• Learn whether your personal data is processed,

• Request information about the processing,

• Learn the purpose of processing and whether data is used accordingly,

• Know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom data is transferred,

• Request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data,

• Request deletion or destruction of data under the conditions of Article 7 of the KVKK,

• Request that corrections and deletions be notified to third parties who received the data,

• Object to an adverse outcome resulting exclusively from automated analysis,

• Claim compensation for damages caused by unlawful processing.

If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) also gives you the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Data processed

• Contact data: email address.

• Transaction security data: one-way hash of your IP address, browser information, consent records.

• Marketing data: subscription source, language, campaign (UTM) parameters.

Purposes and legal bases

• Sending the newsletter, which may include sponsored content: your explicit consent (KVKK Art. 5/1; GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).

• Proving consent and meeting legal obligations: legal obligation (KVKK Art. 5/2-ç; GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)).

• Keeping the site secure and preventing spam and abuse: legitimate interest (KVKK Art. 5/2-f; GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

• Analytics, if you opt in: consent.

Transfers

Your data is shared only with service providers, and only as far as needed: Kit (ConvertKit, USA) for email delivery, Cloudflare for hosting and security, Supabase for the database and, if you opt in, Google and Microsoft for analytics. As some of these providers are located abroad, transfers rely on your explicit consent and/or appropriate safeguards (KVKK Art. 9; GDPR Chapter V).

How data is collected

Data is collected electronically through forms on this site and cookies or similar technologies.

Retention

Subscription data is kept while you are subscribed and, after you unsubscribe, only as long as needed to meet legal proof obligations; it is then deleted or anonymised.

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. This site uses three kinds:

• Strictly necessary cookies: required for the site to run securely (e.g. the Cloudflare security cookie, remembering your cookie choices). They don't need consent and can't be switched off.

• Analytics cookies: Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity. They help me understand how the site is used and load only if you consent.

• Marketing cookies: for measuring ads and campaigns. Used only if you consent.

By default, every cookie except the strictly necessary ones is off. You can change your choices or withdraw consent at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of the page. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings.

My own event log doesn't use cookies and contains no personal data, so it works independently of your cookie choices.
